तत्र आलम्बनाः —
कृष्णश् च कृष्ण-भक्ताश् च बुधैर् आलम्बना मताः ।
रत्य्-आदेर् विषयत्वेन तथाधारतयापि च ॥२.१.१६॥

“आलंबनों का वर्णन इस प्रकार किया गया है: बुद्धिमान लोग आलंबनों को कृष्ण मानते हैं, जो रति में अनुभव किए जाने वाले प्रेम के पात्र हैं, और उनके भक्त, रति (पाँच प्रमुख और सात गौण सथयी-भाव) के भोक्ता (विषय) हैं।”
“The ālambānas are described as follows: The wise consider the ālambānas to be Kṛṣṇa, the object of love experienced in rāti, and His devotees, the enjoyers (subjects) of rāti (five major and seven minor sāthāyī-bhāvas).
