भगवान की कृपा और उनकी शक्तियों के ज्ञान से उत्पन्न प्रेम की व्याख्या पंचरात्र में इस प्रकार की गई है: "भगवान के प्रति अन्य किसी भी वस्तु से अधिक स्नेह, जो अत्यंत दृढ़ हो और जिसमें भगवान की शक्तियों का ज्ञान हो, उसे भक्ति कहते हैं। उस भक्ति से व्यक्ति आध्यात्मिक जगत में शक्तियाँ और अन्य फल प्राप्त करता है। ऐसी वस्तुओं की प्राप्ति का कोई अन्य मार्ग नहीं है।"
The love that arises from the Lord's grace and knowledge of His powers is explained in the Pancharatra as follows: "Affection for the Lord, greater than anything else, which is very strong and which is accompanied by knowledge of the Lord's powers, is called devotion. By that devotion one attains powers and other fruits in the spiritual world. There is no other way to attain such things."
