चूंकि वासुकि की दहकती साँसों से देवता भी प्रभावित हुए थे, तब उनकी कान्ति कम हो गई और उनके वस्त्र, मालाएँ, आयुध एवं उनके चेहरे धुएँ से काले पड़ गए। किन्तु भगवान की कृपा से समुद्र के ऊपर बादल प्रकट हो गए और वे मूसलाधार वर्षा करने लगे। समुद्री लहरों से जल के कण लेकर मन्द समीर बहने लगे जिससे देवताओं को राहत मिली।
Since even the gods were affected by Vasuki's burning breath, their physical glow diminished and their clothes, garlands, weapons and faces became black with smoke. But by the grace of God, clouds appeared over the ocean and they started pouring heavy rain. Gentle breezes started blowing carrying water particles from the ocean waves so that the gods could get relief.
