जिघ्रन्विदूरान्मदविह्वलेक्षण: ।
वृत: स्वयूथेन तृषार्दितेन तत्
सरोवराभ्यासमथागमद्द्रुतम् ॥ २४ ॥
अनुवाद
हाथियों का राजा गजपति, अपने झुंड के साथी हाथियों और हथिनियों से घिरा हुआ था और उसके पीछे-पीछे हाथी के बच्चे भी चल रहे थे। वह अपने शरीर के वजन से त्रिकूट पर्वत को चारों ओर से हिला रहा था। उसके पसीना छूट रहा था, उसके मुँह से मद की लार टपक रही थी और उसकी दृष्टि नशे से भरी थी। मधु पी-पीकर भौरें उसकी सेवा कर रहे थे और वह दूर से ही उन कमल फूलों के रजकणों की सुगंध महसूस कर रहा था, जो मंद पवन द्वारा उस झील से ले जाई जा रही थी। इस तरह, अपने साथियों से घिरा हुआ, जो प्यास से तड़प रहे थे, वह जल्द ही झील के तट पर आ पहुँचा।
