श्रीप्रजापतय ऊचु:
प्रजेशा वयं ते परेशाभिसृष्टा
न येन प्रजा वै सृजामो निषिद्धा: ।
स एष त्वया भिन्नवक्षा नु शेते
जगन्मङ्गलं सत्त्वमूर्तेऽवतार: ॥ ४९ ॥
अनुवाद
प्रजापतियों ने इस प्रकार स्तुति की: हे भगवान, आप ब्रह्मा और शिवजी के भी पूज्य हैं। हम प्रजापतियों को आपने अपनी आज्ञा के पालन के लिए उत्पन्न किया था, किंतु हिरण्यकशिपु ने हमें और उत्तम संतान उत्पन्न करने से रोका। अब यह राक्षस हमारे सामने मृत पड़ा है, जिसके सीने को आपने अपने नखों से फाड़ दिया है। अतः हम आपको सादर प्रणाम करते हैं, क्योंकि इस शुद्ध सात्विक रूप में आपका यह अवतार समस्त ब्रह्मांड के कल्याण के लिए है।
The Prajapatis prayed thus: O Supreme Lord, O Lord worshiped even by Brahma and Shiva, we Prajapatis were all created to obey the command given by you, but Hiranyakshipu prevented us from producing more excellent offspring. Now this demon lies dead before us, whose chest you have pierced. Therefore we offer our respectful obeisances unto you, because your incarnation in this pure Satvik form is for the welfare of the entire universe.
