Hiranyakashipu could not kill his son even by placing him under the feet of a huge elephant, in the midst of huge, terrifying serpents, by using destructive magic, by throwing him down from the top of a mountain, by using illusionary tricks, by poisoning him, by starving him, by exposing him to freezing cold, wind, fire and water, or by throwing heavy stones at him. When he saw that he could not harm the innocent Prahlad in any way, he became very worried about what to do next.
