यदा देवेषु वेदेषु गोषु विप्रेषु साधुषु ।
धर्मे मयि च विद्वेष: स वा आशु विनश्यति ॥ २७ ॥

जब कोई व्यक्ति देवी-देवताओं को, जो कि भगवान के प्रतिनिधि हैं, वेदों को, जो समस्त ज्ञान के दाता हैं, गायों, ब्राह्मणों, वैष्णवों, और धार्मिक सिद्धांतों को, और अंततः मुझ भगवान को ईर्ष्या करता है, तो वह और उसकी सभ्यता तुरंत नष्ट हो जाएगी।
When a person becomes jealous of the demigods, the representatives of the Lord, the Vedas, the giver of all knowledge, the cows, the brahmanas, the Vaishnavas, the religious principles, and ultimately of Me, the Lord, then both he and his civilization will soon perish.
