एवं कुलिङ्गं विलपन्तमारात्
प्रियावियोगातुरमश्रुकण्ठम् ।
स एव तं शाकुनिक: शरेण
विव्याध कालप्रहितो विलीन: ॥ ५६ ॥
अनुवाद
पत्नी की खोई हुई यादों से परेशान कुलिंग पक्षी आँखों में आँसू लेकर विलाप कर रहा था। तभी नियति के हुकुम पर ध्यान देते हुए दूर पेड़ के पीछे छिपा हुआ बहेलिया अपना तीर छोड़ता है। तीर कुलिंग पक्षी के शरीर के आर-पार हो जाता है और उस पक्षी की मृत्यु हो जाती है।
The Kuling bird was crying with tears in its eyes due to the loss of his wife. Then the hunter hiding at a distance very cautiously following the orders of Kaal shot his arrow which pierced the body of the Kuling bird and killed it.
