इत्यक्षरतयात्मानं चिन्मात्रमवशेषितम् ।
ज्ञात्वाद्वयोऽथ विरमेद् दग्धयोनिरिवानल: ॥ ३१ ॥
अनुवाद
जब सभी भौतिक पदनाम इस तरह अपने-अपने भौतिक तत्वों में विलीन हो जाते हैं, तो जीव अंततः पूर्ण रूप से आध्यात्मिक हो जाता है और गुण में परब्रह्म के समान हो जाता है। वह इस संसार से उसी तरह विदा लेता है जिस प्रकार काठ के जल जाने पर उससे उठने वाली लपटें शांत हो जाती हैं। जब भौतिक शरीर अपने विविध भौतिक तत्वों में लौट जाता है, तो केवल आध्यात्मिक जीव बचता है। यही ब्रह्म है और यह गुण में परब्रह्म के समान है।
When all the material attributes merge into their respective elements in this manner, the soul finally becomes completely spiritual and equal to the Supreme Brahman in quality. He retires from this world in the same way as the flames rising from a piece of wood die down when it is burnt. When the material body returns to the various material elements, only the spiritual soul remains. This is Brahman and it is equal to the Supreme Brahman in quality.
इस प्रकार श्रीमद् भागवतम के स्कन्ध सात के अंतर्गत बारहवाँ अध्याय समाप्त होता है ।
