हे राजा, अब मैं वानप्रस्थ की विशेषताओं का वर्णन करूँगा, जो कि गृहस्थ जीवन से मुक्ति है। वानप्रस्थ के नियमों और विधानों का कड़ाई से पालन करते हुए वह आसानी से महर्लोक नामक ऊपरी लोक में पहुँच सकता है।
O king, I shall now describe the qualifications of Vanaprastha, which is detachment from family life. By strictly following the rules and regulations of Vanaprastha one can easily be sent to the higher realm called Maharloka.
