इस असुर हिरण्यकशिपु को मुझसे वर मिला था कि उसे मेरी सृष्टि में कोई भी जीव नहीं मार पाएगा। इस आश्वासन और तपस्या के द्वारा मिली शक्ति से वह अत्यधिक घमंडी बन गया और सभी वैदिक नियमों को तोड़ने लगा।
This demon Hiranyakashipu had obtained a boon from me that he would not be killed by any living creature in my creation. Because of this assurance and the power he had acquired through austerity and yoga, he became very proud and began violating all Vedic injunctions.
