श्रीशुक उवाच
शुक्ले मार्गशिरे पक्षे योषिद्भर्तुरनुज्ञया ।
आरभेत व्रतमिदं सार्वकामिकमादित: ॥ २ ॥
निशम्य मरुतां जन्म ब्राह्मणाननुमन्त्र्य च ।
स्नात्वा शुक्लदती शुक्ले वसीतालङ्कृताम्बरे ।
पूजयेत्प्रातराशात्प्राग्भगवन्तं श्रिया सह ॥ ३ ॥
अनुवाद
शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा- स्त्री को अगहन मास (नवंबर-दिसंबर) के शुक्ल पक्ष की प्रतिपदा से अपने पति की आज्ञा से यह नैमित्तिक भक्ति तप के व्रत के साथ प्रारंभ करना चाहिए, क्योंकि इससे सभी मनोकामनाएं पूरी हो सकती हैं। भगवान विष्णु की उपासना से पहले स्त्री को मरुतों के जन्म की कथा सुनना चाहिए। योग्य ब्राह्मणों के निर्देशानुसार प्रातःकाल दाँत साफ करने चाहिए, स्नान करना चाहिए, सफेद वस्त्र और आभूषण धारण करने चाहिए और फिर भोजन करने के पहले भगवान विष्णु और लक्ष्मी की पूजा करनी चाहिए।
Shukdev Goswami said—A woman should start this routine devotion with a fast of penance on the first day of the bright half of the month of Aghan (November-December) with the permission of her husband because all wishes can be fulfilled by this. Before worshipping Lord Vishnu, a woman should listen to the story of the birth of the Maruts. As per the instructions of qualified Brahmins, she should clean her teeth in the morning, take a bath, wear a white sari and ornaments and then worship Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi before having breakfast.
