ह्रदाश्चत्वार: पयोमध्विक्षुरसमृष्टजला यदुपस्पर्शिन उपदेवगणा योगैश्वर्याणि स्वाभाविकानि भरतर्षभ धारयन्ति ॥ १३ ॥ देवोद्यानानि च भवन्ति चत्वारि नन्दनं चैत्ररथं वैभ्राजकं सर्वतोभद्रमिति ॥ १४ ॥
अनुवाद
भरतवंश में श्रेष्ठ, हे महाराज परीक्षित, इन चार पर्वतों के बीच चार विशाल सरोवर हैं। इनमें से पहले के पानी का स्वाद दूध जैसा है, दूसरे का शहद जैसा और तीसरे का गन्ने के रस जैसा है। चौथा सरोवर शुद्ध पानी से भरा हुआ है। योग सिद्धियों से संपन्न सिद्ध, चारण और गंधर्व जैसे अपार्थिव प्राणी, जिन्हें देवता भी कहा जाता है, इन चार सरोवरों का उपभोग करते हैं। नतीजतन, वे सूक्ष्मतम से सूक्ष्मतर और विशालतम से विशालतर रूप धारण करने की शक्ति जैसी सहज योग सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त करते हैं। इसके अलावा, चार देव-उद्यान भी हैं, जिनके नाम हैं - नंदन, चैत्ररथ, वैभ्राजक और सर्वतोभद्र।
O King Pariksit, the best of the Bharata clan, there are four large lakes between these four mountains. The water of the first of these is like milk, the second like honey and the third like sugarcane juice. The fourth lake is full of pure water. The facilities of these four lakes are enjoyed by the immaterial beings like Siddhas, Charanas and Gandharvas, who are also called devtas. As a result they have the natural siddhis of yoga--the power to assume the subtlest and subtlest forms. Besides these there are also four divine gardens, named Nandana, Chaitraratha, Vaibhrajaka and Sarvatobhadra.
