ब्रह्मा ने देखा कि जल में शेषनाग का शरीर एक विशाल कमल जैसा श्वेत शय्या था जिस पर भगवान् एकाकी लेटे हुए थे। पूरे वातावरण में शेषनाग के फन पर सजे रत्नों की किरणें फैली हुई थीं जिससे उस क्षेत्र का सारा अंधेरा दूर हो गया था।
Brahma could see that the body of Sheshnag in the water was a huge lotus-like white bed on which the Lord lay alone. The entire atmosphere was illuminated by the rays of the gems that adorned the hood of Sheshnag and this light dispelled all darkness in that area.
