तस्यां स चाम्भोरुहकर्णिकाया-
मवस्थितो लोकमपश्यमान: ।
परिक्रमन् व्योम्नि विवृत्तनेत्र-
श्चत्वारि लेभेऽनुदिशं मुखानि ॥ १६ ॥
अनुवाद
कमल के फूल से जन्मे ब्रह्मा जगत को देख नहीं पाए, यद्यपि वे कोश में ही अवस्थित थे। इसलिए उन्होंने सारे आकाश की परिक्रमा की और अपनी आँखों को सभी दिशाओं में घुमाते हुए उन्होंने चार दिशाओं के रूप में चार सिर प्राप्त किए।
Brahma, born from the lotus flower, could not see the universe even though he was situated in the cell. So he revolved around the whole space and while moving his eyes in all directions, he obtained four heads in the form of the four directions.
