निम्नगानां यथा गङ्गा देवानामच्युतो यथा ।
वैष्णवानां यथा शम्भु: पुराणानामिदं तथा ॥ १६ ॥
अनुवाद
जैसे गंगा सभी नदियों में सबसे बड़ी है, भगवान अच्युत देवताओं में सर्वोच्च हैं और भगवान शंभू [शिव] वैष्णवों में सबसे बड़े हैं, उसी तरह श्रीमद्भागवत सभी पुराणों में सबसे महान है।
Just as the Ganges is the greatest of all rivers flowing towards the sea, Lord Achyuta is the greatest of gods and Lord Shambhu (Shiva) is the greatest of Vaishnavas, similarly the Srimad Bhagavatam is supreme among all the Puranas.
