दारुक ने वृष्णियों के पूर्ण विनाश का वृत्तान्त सुनाया और हे परीक्षित, इसे सुनकर लोग अपने हृदय में अत्यंत व्याकुल और शोक से स्तब्ध हो गए। वे कृष्ण से बिछुड़ने के दुख से व्याकुल होकर अपना सिर पीटते हुए उस जगह के लिए जल्दी से चल पड़े जहाँ उनके परिजन मृत पड़े थे।
Daruka narrated the tale of the total destruction of the Vrishnis, and O Parikshit, on hearing this, the people were greatly perplexed and stunned in their hearts with grief. They began to hurry to the place where their relatives lay dead, beating their heads in anguish at the separation from Krishna.
