श्रीप्रबुद्ध उवाच
कर्माण्यारभमाणानां दु:खहत्यै सुखाय च ।
पश्येत् पाकविपर्यासं मिथुनीचारिणां नृणाम् ॥ १८ ॥
अनुवाद
श्री प्रबुद्ध ने कहा है कि मानव समाज में नर और नारी की भूमिकाओं को स्वीकार करते हुए प्राणी संभोग के ज़रिये मिलते हैं। इस तरह वे अपने दुख को दूर करने के लिए लगातार प्रयास करते रहते हैं और अपने आनंद को असीम बनाना चाहते हैं। लेकिन यह ध्यान देना चाहिए कि उन्हें हमेशा इसके बिल्कुल उल्टा ही परिणाम मिलता है। दूसरे शब्दों में, उनका सुख ज़रूर ख़त्म हो जाता है और जैसे-जैसे वे बूढ़े होते जाते हैं, उनकी शारीरिक तकलीफ़ें बढ़ती जाती हैं।
Sri Prabuddha said, Thus, accepting the roles of male and female in human society, the conditioned souls engage in sexual intercourse. In this way they are constantly striving to alleviate their suffering and to make their happiness infinite. But it should be observed that they always get the exact opposite result. In other words, their happiness inevitably comes to an end and as they grow old, their material discomforts increase.

एक शुद्ध भक्त की दया के बिना सांसारिक जिंदगी के भ्रमयुक्त आधार, यौन आकर्षण, से अपने आपको छुड़ाना बहुत ही कठिन है।
