गोपियाँ भगवान श्रीकृष्ण से क्षणमात्र के लिए भी अलग होने के विचार से डरी हुई थीं। ऐसे में उन्हें उनकी चाल में लालित्य, उनकी लीलाएँ, उनकी स्नेह भरी मुस्कान, उनके वीरतापूर्ण कार्य और दुख को दूर करने वाले हास्य शब्दों का स्मरण आया और आने वाले विरह के विचार से वे चिंतित हो गईं। वे गुटों में एकत्रित हुईं और एक-दूसरे से बातें करने लगीं। उनके चेहरे आँसुओं से भरे थे और उनके मन पूर्ण रूप से अच्युत में लीन थे।
The gopis were terrified of the possibility of even a momentary separation from Lord Mukunda. So when they remembered his graceful gait, his pastimes, his affectionate smiling glances, his heroic deeds and his sorrow-relieving jokes, they lost their senses in anxiety at the thought of the possible ultimate separation. They gathered in groups and started talking to each other. Their faces were filled with tears and their minds were completely absorbed in Achyuta.
