नदियाँ जहाँ समुद्र से मिलती हैं, वहाँ समुद्र उग्र हो उठता है और हवा के कारण उसकी लहरें इधर-उधर हिलने लगती हैं। उसी प्रकार से एक अपरिपक्व योगी का मन कामवासना से ग्रस्त होने और इंद्रियों की संतुष्टि के विषयों से जुड़ाव होने के कारण डगमगाने लगता है।
