Though the older gopis were equally pained and were shedding tears of grief, they forcefully held on to Krishna's mother, whose consciousness was completely absorbed in her son. These gopis, standing like corpses, with their eyes fixed on Krishna's face, were narrating in turn the tales of Vraj's most beloved.
