The Bhagavad Gita redefines authentic happiness by isolating its source. True happiness is not an external acquisition; it is an inherent characteristic of the soul (*ananda*). In Chapter 5, Krishna explains that real happiness is independent of external circumstances; it is an internal stream of satisfaction achieved when the consciousness is completely cleansed of material lust and fully re-routed toward the Supreme Source.
